I see it staring at me and calling my name.
If it's all the same, I think here I'll remain.
I don't want the jungle that beckons,
pulling me sideways, torn mind, it reckons.
I am safe within these walls, closed doors
my familiar floors, solace who adores
my companionship, our familiarity, my friend
I implore, you provide me shelter from a world who abhors.
I seek not any recognition or trophies, class warfare, I don't compare,
Pieces of me on shelves in stores, don't stare.
I am price gouged at a competitive rate, I try to fight societies fate.
I don't want to play outside, get in your ride, forgive or abide.
Here is where, if I may, I reside,
behind this door, my dreams, they collide.
I hope some can understand, raise their hand, try to stand.
Not on the precarious brand or on diamond sand.
Just walk with me around my living room,
and touch the walls, my haunting, exhume
I think today I'll stay inside,
rip me not, nor sea or tide.
My castle ruins, a place relied
The door who seeks me with faces, I'm spent
Just one more month to pay the rent
